Below are responses to frequently asked questions from the Office of Alumnae Relations and Development. For more specific questions, contact Alumnae Relations.

How will refunds be handled?

All registrations will be refunded automatically over the next few weeks. We will be in contact to let you know when this happens. 

 

If you would like to donate your existing registration fee to The Smith Fund, please send an email to reunionregistration@smith.edu.

 

How will alums be notified if they don’t have an email address on file with the college (or have a “no email contact” preference)?

Smith staff members will be reaching out to these individuals by phone.

 

What if the alum made an optional donation to The Smith Fund when they registered?

We are grateful to those alums who made these optional donations to the college. At this time, we will not automatically be refunding Smith Fund gifts made through the registration process. If an alum wants their gift refunded, they should please send an email request to giftaccounting@smith.edu

 

What replacement celebrations will the college offer in lieu of our in-person gatherings?

We understand how much alums were looking forward to coming together in May. The college is currently looking into creative options for virtual or other opportunities. We will share more information as it is available. We are facing very unusual circumstances due to our recent move to fully remote work, and we want to be certain we will be able to fulfill any offerings we announce before we proceed.

 

What is the status of class fundraising activity?

The college is extremely grateful to all alums for the generous donations made through The Smith Fund, including the new Emergency Fund (in support of current students’ emergency needs due to the move to remote learning/COVID-19), and all other giving opportunities. At this time, Smith’s fundraising operations are continuing and we will continue to tally all donations from alums as part of their reunion gifts in the same manner as previous years. 

 

How will we hold elections for new class officers and fundraising volunteers?

The staff will be discussing a way to hold elections online. More information will be shared as it is determined.
